2010 Villa Maria Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Fruit for this wine was sourced from vineyards across the Marlborough region. A blend of fruit grown in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys spanning a range of different meso-climates were incorporated. Careful attention was paid to vine health to give the vine the best chance to optimise the season and develop strong, clean flavours.

From the Wine Maker – “This vibrant Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with a fruit-salad-bowl of flavours including ripe gooseberry, passionfruit, fresh citrus lime and exotic herbaceous aromas. The wine has an exciting palate with layers of juicy flavours, intensity and fullness, finishing with a refreshing crisp, clean and racy acidity. Enjoy this exuberant and delightful wine.”

This vintage is best served with salmon, tomato, green bean and potato salad.

2012 The Beach House White Wine

80% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Semillon. Crisp notes of guava, lemongrass, key lime and gooseberries abound, with a bit of lanolin, mineral and grapefruit undertones mixed in for a lively white perfect for anytime.

From the Wine Maker – “A playful personality of lemon grass and gooseberries typical to Sauvignon Blanc.  Giving way to a characteristic contribution by Semillon of honeysuckle, tangerine and lemon blossom.”

1 1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
1 cup of the beach house wine

2013 Cakebread Cellars Sauvignon Blanc

Cakebread-Cellars-Sauvignon-BlancWe source Sauvignon Blanc grapes from throughout Napa Valley,  with over a third of the total coming from our estate vineyards in Rutherford, Calistoga,  Carneros and southeastern Napa.  The wonderful  fruit from these sites enables us to produce a full-bodied, crisp and complex  Sauvignon Blanc boasting distinctive varietal character and a delectably zestiness.   In 2012, a superb white wine vintage in  Napa Valley, we blended 87% Sauvignon Blanc with 9% Semillon (to enrich the wine’s  mid-palate and soften its acidity) and 4% Sauvignon Musqué, an aromatic clone of Sauvignon Blanc that adds a  bright, floral note to the bouquet.

From the Wine Maker – “Because of the stability of our grape sources and constancy of our winemaking regimen, our sauvignon blanc displays a consistent style from year to year. The 2013 vintage boasts characteristically fresh, pure and complex white grapefruit, guava, green apple, honeydew melon and mineral aromas. It’s concentrated; guava, gooseberry and melon flavors persist into a long, lively finish boasting bright citrus, light spice and mouth-watering mineral tones. Enjoy this beauty over the next 3-5 years with your favorite salad, seafood, poultry and veggie dishes.”

A perfect oyster wine, this Sauvignon Blanc is also delicious with many vegetarian dishes. Cheeses such as chevre and other fresh cheeses, Brie and other semi-soft cheeses, Swiss, Gouda and other mild, firm cheeses.

2011 Arrogant Frog Sauvignon Blanc

Arrogant Frog is an estate-bottled wine from the Languedoc region of southern France. Like its creator, winemaker Jean-Claude Mas, (aka the Humble Vintner), this wine is proud to assert its Mediterranean origin. Generations of the Mas family have tended to vineyards and made wine in the Languedoc region, and over the years, their wines have retained vibrancy and refined charm. The wine is sealed with a dependable screw cap to preserve freshness and youthful appeal.

From the Wine Maker – “Complex and fresh with aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry and herbaceous notes and a hint of smokiness. Taste: Fruity and lively with great balance and persistence.”

Best served with shellfish, poached or grilled seafood, salads and asparagus dishes.
