2014 William Hill North Coast Chardonnay

From the Wine Maker – “Our William Hill Estate North Coast Chardonnay offers aromas and flavors of ripe tree fruit, underscored by hints of brown spice, citrus and tropical fruit. Hailing mostly from Sonoma and Solano, this well-integrated wine has excellent acidity and a creamy mouthfeel.”

Great with grilled poultry, roasted pork, sweet or spicy fruit chutney, and soft-ripening cheeses.

2015 Apothic Red Winemaker’s Blend

Named for a mysterious place, Apotheca, where vintners stored their most coveted concoctions in 13th century Europe, Apothic blends fuse Old World intrigue with modern sophistication. Winemaker Boyd Morrison lets the character and flavor of each varietal guide the shape of his wines. Apothic offers a portfolio of enchanting blends that are bold in style and taste.

From the winemaker – “In 2012, Apothic Red was crafted from a blend of primarily Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. These varieties come together seamlessly for a fruit-driven wine with fresh dark fruit flavors and jammy red fruit notes. The Zinfandel offers bold dark fruit flavors and spicy notes, complemented by the soft mouthfeel of Merlot. The Syrah adds layers of smooth blueberry, while the Cabernet Sauvignon delivers ripe fruit flavors and a firm structure. This decadent blend is framed by hints of oak, vanilla, and mocha.

This bold vintage should be served with wild game meats like; squab, pigeon, dove, pheasant, venison (deer), buffalo, boar and ostrich. Hard, savory cheeses like Parmigiano, Romano and Cheddar.

2011 William Hill Bench Blend Chardonnay

From the Wine Maker – “Our William Hill Estate 2011 Napa Valley Chardonnay was made from a mix of grapes grown in the cool Carneros and warmer St. Helena AVAs. Ripe tree fruit and heady notes of baked apple are supported by layers of caramel, brown spice and toasted oak flavors. This wine has a rich palate and silky mouthfeel, with moderate sweetness and a long, lingering finish.”

This luscious yet balanced Chardonnay is a perfect complement to dinner with flavors of toasted oak, buttered popcorn, green apple, and citrus.

Beringer Sparkling White Zinfandel

White Zinfandel makes a great sparkler—its color is beautiful, and it has bright fruit flavors that are enlivened even more by the bubbles.

From the winemaker – “The nose has lovely floral notes that are reminiscent of the wonderfully refreshing Spumante’s of Italy, with citrus and strawberry fruit nuances. The palate begins with a nice, classic “mousse” mouthfeel, and strawberry, brown spice and citrus flavors interplay with a refreshing acidity that carries everything into a long, delicious finish.”

Serves well with medium bodied grilled fish or fish prepared in light to medium or rich and hearty sauces like swordfish, halibut, or mahi mahi. Fruits like strawberries, cherries, bananas, tropical
style fruits and melons.

2010 Plowbuster Pinot Noir

Plowbuster is the second label of Pinot Noir, named for the soil these vines call home.  The earth is littered with bits of steel from several generations of plows,  Vine roots run so deep that irrigation is moot.  There are rocky red soils only a winemaker or a geologist could love.  An exceptional quality Pinot Noir, dark fruited, deep and earthy, and from a fantastic vintage for the Willamette Valley.

From the Wine Maker – “ Pure garnet in color with vibrant berry and brown spice on the nose. Dark cherry and cinnamon on the entry with a bright mid-palate that has classic pinot fine tannins and silky texture. Finishes nicely with a lilt of strawberry making it a wonderful match with game hens basted in quince sauce.”
