This Cabernet has a nice aroma of black cherries and a hint of dried currant. It has a slightly berryish complexity and good fruit coming through which makes it a drink now Cabernet.
From the winemaker – “Our winemaking goal with the Columbia Valley Cabernet is to highlight concentrated Washington red fruit in an accessible style. The 2007 bottling is made in a slightly riper style with beautiful jammy fruit. Syrah (15%) was added to the blend for sweet fruit character, while a touch of Malbec provided bright tannins. The 6% Merlot contributed structure.”
Great with beef, duck or veal dishes or a bleu cheese. Other flavors that go well with this bottle are dark chocolate, mustard, paprika, rosemary, thyme, cloves, ginger and nutmeg.
