2015 Bogle Essential Red

From the Wine Maker – “Bogle winemakers have brought together four distinct varietals to create something memorable and delicious…the 2015 Essential Red. This compelling blend of Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah has created a ripe and mouthfilling wine.  Richly textured fruit of dark berries and black plums is nuanced by the flavors of juniper and dried herbs. The juicy, jammy fruit is framed with spicy cedar and hints of pipe tobacco and cocoa as the American oak lingers through the aging of 12 long months.  Luscious from start to finish, this wine is easy to drink, but impossible to forget.  Share it with your friends tonight.”

Best served with a Barbecue Burger, Blue Cheese and Dark Chocolate Macarons.

2013 Zin 91 Old Vine Zinfandel

This great Zin is dry and spicy, with blackberry, currant, herb and coffee flavors that finish with a hint of raisins.

From the Wine Maker – “The aromas are classic of an old vine Zinfandel: spicy and jammy. Notes of black pepper, raspberry, and boysenberry lead to hints of cinnamon, sandalwood, and clove to create the bouquet. On the palate, the wine carries over the spicy notes, as well as black cherry and cassis flavors. The oak-aging gives it a supple and velvety texture. Fruit-forward with balanced acidity and alcohol.”

Pairs well with an array of dishes, from vegetable lasagna to hearty beef stews. Also excellent with roasted and grilled meats.

2012 Bridlewood Estate Monterey County Pinot Noir

bridlewood-estate-winery-monterey-county-pinot-noirAt Bridlewood, we like to take our time. We hand select our grapes from California’s vast Central Coast AVA, and we pour our passion into winemaking. Our picturesque 105-acre estate rests on a high bench of ancient seabed, facing the Pacific breezes that meander through the Santa Ynez Mountains to the south and the Purisima Hills and San Raphael Mountains to the north. Days are warm, nights are cool and the abundant sunshine is tempered by wind and fog. This is Central Coast Wine Country at its best. The grapes for this wine were harvested early in the morning, keeping them as cool as possible. This helped the grapes retain their natural acidity and expressive fruit flavors while allowing for better control of the fermentation temperature.

From the winemaker – “Our Bridlewood Monterey County Pinot Noir has layers of cherry, raspberry and plum flavors that are nicely complemented by hints of caramel, vanilla and toffee. The soft, silky mouthfeel of this Pinot Noir goes a long way.”

This wine is best served with Veal chops, veal Marsala, Piccata, Osso bucco.  Veal with light herb, vegetable, cheese, cream, mushroom or wine sauces. Mild, firm cheeses like Swiss or Gouda.  Hard cheeses like Parmigiano or Romano and savory cheese like Cheddar.

2012 Ghost Pines Cabernet Sauvignon

ghost-pines-cabernet-sauvignonSourcing from both the Napa and Sonoma appellations allows our winemaker to blend a wine which accentuates the best of what each region has to offer. Napa County Cabernet provides lush, jammy, ripe fruit flavors to the blend in a very free-spirited yet elegant manner. The Sonoma County Cabernet adds fresh red and black fruit flavors along with a strong, disciplined structural foundation.

From the Wine Maker – “Bold and intensely flavored, our Ghost Pines Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted with grapes from Sonoma and Napa. The blend of these two regions creates an expansive palate that offers dark fruit flavors, round tannins and an enduring finish. Sweet vanilla nuances and the occasional savory note make this Cabernet a truly unique wine.”

This wine is best served with roast beef, steak, steak prepared with dark and hearty sauces or red wine sauces, beef stew, or short ribs. Hard cheeses like Parmigiano or romano and firm cheeses like cheddar.

2008 Pedroncelli Zinfandel Mother Clone

This Zinfandel is made up of 90% Zinfandel; 10% Petite Sirah. Once fermented, the wine is aged in American oak barrels for 12 months. The touch of Petite Sirah adds the additional color, structure, and tannin to this Zinfandel.

From the Wine Maker – “Our Mother Clone Zinfandel is full-bodied and intense with classic Dry Creek Valley, aromas of ripe raspberry and warm spice with jammy fruit flavors framed by subtle black pepper. This is a concentrated wine that offers a great balance of fruit, spice and tannin combined with a long, lingering finish. Enjoy now or cellar for three to five years.”

Phantom is back…Bogle’s apparition of fierce berry and sensual spice returns to tease and tantalize. This red blend is made up of 51% Zinfandel, 47%  Petite Sirah, and 2%  Mourvèdre.

From the Wine Maker – “This ruby red spectre entices with rich blackberry and briary boysenberry.  Provocative dark fruits envelop the nose and palate, leaving the essence of flavors brought forth by the grapes during winemaking.  Black cherry and anise abound, leading to a sturdy finish of black pepper, pipe tobacco and spicy oak.  Aged for over two years in 1 and 2-year-old American oak focus and intensify the Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Mourvèdre, creating yet another passionate and commanding red wine, impossible to ignore.”
