2013 Adele Chardonnay

The Adele Chardonnay comes from a 10-acre block in the well-known Vine Hill Road region of Russian River, source of some of the best Chardonnay produced in California. It is fermented two-thirds in new and used French Oak barrels, while the rest is fermented in stainless steel to maintain the bright freshness of the fruit. During its 8 month elevage, the wine sees some batonnage, adding richness and texture. The result is a full-bodied but not overblown crowd-pleaser.

From the winemaker – “2013 Adele Chardonnay Russian River a bright yellow color of medium intensity along with greenish reflections. On the nose the wine offers a medium intensity of vanilla, ripe pineapple and toffee. There might be a hint of orange rind. On the palate he wine is dry, full-bodied with mouth-watering acidity. There is a medium(-) intensity of flavors similar to the nose. The vanilla and pineapple are dominant with a hint of tangerine. The finish is clean with a medium length of lingering pineapple. There is a pleasant slight sweet attack on medium intensity at the end.”

This wine is best served with white meats, scallops, Hard cheeses, fish, chicken, BBQ.

2015 Alamos Torrontés

Alamos-Torrontes

Argentina’s only native grape, Torrontés thrives in our soaring vineyards at 5,000 to 10,000 feet in elevation, developing incredible floral aromas, bright fruit notes and refreshing acidity. Our Torrontés is grown in Salta in the far northwestern region of Argentina. In the shadow of the Andes at higher altitudes than Mendoza and much closer to the equator, Salta is one of the most extreme winegrowing regions in the world. Blazing hot summer days can reach daytime temperatures of 100 degrees of intense sunlight, plunging to as low as 55 degrees at night as the heat evaporates into the thin air. It’s a dramatic shift that allows grapes to mature and accumulate rich, bold flavors during the day and preserve beautiful acidity and structure at night.

From the winemaker – “A delightful expression of the region, the Alamos Torrontes is crisp and extraordinarily fragrant (another benefit of our high-elevation vineyards), filled with striking floral aromas of orange and jasmine blossom. On the palate, vibrant notes of peach, ripe pineapple and fresh herbs lead to a refreshing zing of acidity at the finish.”

This wine pairs nicely with a wide variety of Thai foods because of its ability to temper the Thai dishes. Try pad kee mao (drunken noodles), masaman curry and beef noodle soup with this one.

On the full and round palate, flavors of pear and pineapple emerge, balanced by subtle notes of vanilla, butterscotch and sweet brown spice. A lingering finish is accented by clean acidity and citrus zest.”

2010 La Yunta Torrontés Mendoza

The Torrontés grape was first brought to Argentina in the late 1800’s by Spanish immigrants. While most Argentine Torrontés is produced in La Salta, we prefer it from La Rioja. The region’s more moderate climate produces a Torrontés that is much more “focused” on the palate and considerably drier than most.

From the Wine Maker – “Notably aromatic of green melon and white peach. It has balanced citrus flavor with a touch of French oak to provide a crisp yet lingering finish.”

It is a wonderful as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood and poultry dishes.
