2014 Ghost Pines Zinfandel

Ghost Pines knows no boundaries. Without the restriction of traditional winegrowing boundaries, the grapes for Ghost Pines wines are chosen from California’s best regions solely for their quality and flavor. This philosophy delivers wines of consistent quality and a distinct combination of richness, smoothness and balance that could never be mistaken for ordinary. Named for the indigenous Gray Pines dotting Northern California’s hillsides, Ghost Pines embodies the progressive spirit of California winemaking and inspires a sense of individuality.

From the Wine Maker – “Our Ghost Pines Zinfandel blends fruit from San Joaquin and Sonoma counties to accentuate the best of what each of these phenomenal Zinfandel-producing counties has to offer. The 2014 Zinfandel opens with rich, complex aromas of ripe raspberry jam, cracked pepper and toasty oak. On the palate, the wine offers intense, jammy flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, brown spice and cola framed by lush structure and a long, multi-layered finish.”

Try with roast, steak, hamburgers, beef ribs, brisket, Beef Wellington or beef jerky. Hard cheese like Parmigiano or Romano.

2012 Aviary Chardonnay

Aviary-ChardonnayThe 2012 vintage was a truly remarkable year for grape growing in Napa Valley. We had a warmer spring followed by a beautiful warm summer and very pleasant fall. It was a stark contrast to the challenges of recent vintages. No frost, no rain, no hail, no long stretches of high heat. The consistent temperatures allowed the grapes to develop slowly and evenly, encouraging a rich crop of fully mature grapes. It was a classic growing season with great quality and large quantity.

From the Wine Maker – “Our 2012 Aviary Chardonnay is fresh, rich, and balanced. Inviting aromas of pear, banana, vanilla, subtle spice, and toasted oak draw you in. On the palate, we find lively flavors of apricot, Golden Delicious apple, pear, banana, and star of jasmine. The experience is rich and bright, finishing with well-rounded viscosity and sparkling acidity. A real enjoyment that will age well.”

This Chardonnay is an excellent accompaniment for fish, poultry and lightly sauced entrees. Semi-hard cheeses like Fontina, Jarlsberg, Swiss or Gouda.

2015 Sacha Lichine Single Blend Rose

A great selection of grapes that grow from vines in the South of France made with a traditional wine making approach and offering a bold and luscious new world style.

From the winemaker – “Single Blend has a bright, blush color with an elegant nose. It is both full and balanced and has a fresh finish. This wine is dry. The pressing is direct and made carefully while aged with bâtonnage.

Amazing with a full range of foods, dry Rosé is one of the most versatile wines in the world for pairing. Think salmon, shellfish, grilled meats, Mediterranean, Asian, cheese & crackers and more…

2013 St. Francis Merlot

st-francis-merlotOur founder Joe Martin was the first grower to plant Merlot in Sonoma Valley. Merlot thrives in this picturesque valley where warm days are cooled by evening breezes and fog from the Pacific Ocean. The grapes in our Sonoma Valley Merlot come from our Certified Sustainable Estate Behler and Wild Oak vineyards, as well as from top growers throughout the area. Each carefully selected vineyard contributes distinctive and individual qualities to the finished wine.

From the Wine Maker – “This polished Merlot shows off layered aromas and flavors of espresso, red cherry and chocolate that finish with a touch of savory spices. Medium-to-full bodied with good structure and a long, lingering finish.”

This medium-bodied wine is a perfect companion to oven-roasted turkey, Italian sausage, braised short ribs and mild to medium hard cheeses like Port Salut, Edam and Gouda.

2014 B Side Cabernet Sauvignon

Side-B-Cabernet-SauvignonB Side wines tell the story of the flip-side of Napa Valley. Nestled in rural areas and rolling hills along the eastern edge of the valley, these vineyards are just a few miles from the glamorous, high-priced wineries featured along Highway 29. The eastern side of Napa Valley includes areas such as Pope Valley, Chiles Valley, Wooden Valley, Stags Leap District and lower Calistoga. Vines in these areas are grown in thin volcanic soils, which yield smaller, more concentrated fruit.

From the winemaker – “Our 2014 B Side Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an exciting expression of layered fruit, with tiers of dense dark berry and delicate touches of mocha and chocolate. The aromas speak for themselves and carry through to the rened palate. Core flavors of blackberry, pomegranate and black currant reduction are framed by notes of cappuccino, bitter-sweet chocolate and dark caramel. This wine presents well-integrated oak from the fourteen month, 90% French oak regimen. A persistent finish lingers on the palate, echoing the core flavors and reminding us of the finesse of this Cabernet Sauvignon.”

Enjoy on its own or pair with slow-roasted beef brisket, blackened swordfish atop herbed couscous, or a wild mushroom tart with chevre topping.

2015 Stags Leap Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Stags-Leap-Napa-Valley-Sauvignon-BlancStag’s Leap Wine Cellars began making Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc in the early 1980s. We combine estate-grown grapes with those purchased from a handful of skilled, fastidious farmers to create a wine that is complex, yet crisp and refreshing, and versatile with a wide range of dishes and occasions – from patio aperitif to elegant dinner party.

2015 Whispering Angel Rose

Whispering-Angel-RoseChateau d’Esclans is located on an exceptional site, on elevated land near the Gorges de Pennafort, twenty five kilometers northwest of the ancient Roman city of Frejus on the Mediterranean coast. The first traces of the chateau’s site date back to Gaullist times during which its location served as a lookout point to spot intruders coming by boat into the Gulf of Frejus. The chateau’s cellar structure or foundation (known today as the oldest in the region) housed an original Chateau that was given by the Comte de Provence to Gérard De Villeneuve, in 1201.

From the winemaker – “As a negociant and vinificateur (winery), caves d’esclans identifies vineyards, grapes and wines from château d’esclans as well as local growers to make what has reputedly become the world’s greatest rosé. As our objective is to obtain the best quality grapes and wines, we have created relationships with the local grape growers, committed beside caves d’esclans, whose vineyards are treated with the same high standards of quality as are the vineyards of château d’esclans.”

Amazing with a full range of foods, dry Rosé is one of the most versatile wines in the world for pairing. Think salmon, shellfish, grilled meats, Mediterranean, Asian, cheese & crackers and more…
