From the Wine Maker – “Spolverino means ‘feather duster’ in Italian, and is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Black Rooster; the emblem of Chianti and Tuscany’s wine country. The wine is a traditional blend of Sangiovese with several other local grapes, predominantly Canaiolo. Intense red cherry fruit on nose and palate, interwoven with notes of tobacco and violet. Medium-full bodied, with a juicy richness and snappy, youthful acidity. “
Best with cured or barbecued pork, or with the savoury flavours of Prosciutto and other cured meats.
