Founded in 1920, Cataldi Madonna has been carried forward by three generations of the family. Consisting of just over 65 acres, the estate is home to Abruzzo’s native varietal range and has been bottling its own wines since 1975. This small, family winery is located high in the plains near L’ Aquila. Founded in 1920 by Antonio Cataldi Madonna, the winery is now run by son Luigi who produces some of Abruzzo’s best reds, whites, and roses.
From the Wine Maker – “Intense, pleasing, clean and elegant aromas of acacia, hawthorn, kiwi, lemon, almond, apple, coconut and pear with agreeable crisp attack, however, well-balanced, intense flavors with persistent finish with good flavors of lemon, pear and apple.”
Great everyday wine, pairs well with fish and white meats.
