A majority of our fruit came from Edna Valley, a distinctive coastal region with a reputation for producing lovely, fruit-driven Pinot Noir. Located in San Luis Obispo, this unique valley is oriented east to west, drawing in the nearby marine breeze and creating one of the coolest and longest growing seasons in California. The long hang times translate to fruit with ripe tannins and elegant black cherry flavors. A small amount of fruit came from Monterey County, which provided brambly, berry-jam character. By using several vineyards, we were able to create depth and complexity in the wine.
From the winemaker – “Lifted aromas of cherry, blackberry, cocoa and sweet earthy notes open our Pinot Noir. On the palate, the expressive bright fruit evolves to darker blackberry jam, chocolate covered cherries and soft oak. Fine tannins lend velvety, lush texture as the flavors extend into a long, satisfying finish. Pair this inviting Pinot Noir with comfort foods, such as herb-roasted chicken or wild mushroom pasta.”
