2011 Arista Pinot Noir

Arista-Pinot-NoirArista Winery was founded by the McWilliams family with a mission to create the most elegant expression of Pinot Noir. Arista sources grapes from small, responsibly-farmed vineyard “gems” and works closely with these growers who share our dedication to sustainability in their vineyards. This combination of minimal intervention and gentle yet meticulous coaxing in the vineyards and in the cellar have resulted in wines with rich, deep flavors that reflect the unique sites from which the grapes are sourced. Produced in small lots of several barrels, the wines are deliciously balanced with fruit, tannins, acidity and oak in harmonious proportion,

From the Wine Maker – “The 2011 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a true expression of a great vintage in Sonoma. The wine is a blend of our Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir vineyards, and boasts a nose of cinnamon, ripe raspberries, and freshly turned soil. A light touch of oak comes across as freshly baked pie crust or fresh pastry. On the palate, a note of strawberry preserves drives a broad and supple mid-palate. The finish is persistent, and boasts a pleasant mix of juicy and savory components. The Sonoma Coast blend represents the unique characteristics of the appellation that set it apart from other growing regions.  The wine is defined by its refreshing acidity and floral aromatics.  The wine’s medium body and red fruit profile make it an ideal candidate for pairing with food.”

This wine pairs nicely with roast pork, pork chops, pork tenderloin, ham or mild sausage. Mild, firm cheeses like Swiss or Gouda.  Hard cheeses like Parmigiano or Romano and savory cheese like Cheddar.
