The dream of Bodega Ruca Malen began in 1998 when Jean-Pierre Thibaud and Jacques Louis de Montalembert, in one of his many meetings, confessed the illusion of having his own winery in Mendoza, this paradise at the foot of the Andes. At that time, Jean-Pierre left the chairmanship of Bodegas Chandon Argentina after 10 years, while Jacques Louis had a long tradition in wine from its source in the area of Burgundy. Located in the Uco Valley, 1100 meters above sea level. Soil is sandy loam, rocky with great drainage and very poor in organic matter. The vines were planted in 2001 using a vertical trellising system with drip irrigation, the average yield totaling 10 tons/hectare.
From the Wine Maker – “Nearly black in color, this Malbec has aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, and violet flowers with subtle notes of vanilla and caramel. Jammy, packed with fresh red fruit and a pleasant acidity that balances nicely with the firm tannins. The finish is round and generous with a touch of sweet oak.”
Enhances grilled red meats, tomato-based pasta dishes, empanadas and rice dishes.
