2010 Four Vines Petite Sirah

Four-Vines-Petite-SirahFrom the winemaker – “Pull the cork on this bottle and pour out a dark scarlet elixir throwing off aromas of cherry pie, cedar box, cinnamon, plum and rhubarb. Trailing notes include fragrant plums, sweet cigars and vanilla wafers to pull you into this seductive wine. Lodi vineyards pick out with grapes of sublime depth…glory to those older vines and warm summer days.

Flavors here capture and intrigue the senses with their explosive outbursts. Fresh blackberry and boysenberry flavors ride with pepper spice, briar perfume and cloves on a structure that starts right from the very first sip. A healthy dollop of Zinfandel keeps the party going with a youthful rebel fruit addition to lighten things up and to rock its easy-drinking style.”

Big, bodacious blue fruit with fine tannins, minerality and good acidity make this wine the perfect partner to blue cheese, tri tip, grilled burgers, sausage pizza or perhaps a portabella mushroom risotto.

This wine was given an 87 point rating by Wine Spectator.
