2006 San Giuseppe Chianti Classico Riserva

San-Giuseppe-Chianti-Classico-RiservaChianti is Italy’s best known wine. Chianti is also Italy’s oldest defined area. The region was created by Medici decree over five centuries ago. That region later became the ”Classico” as the popularity of Chianti grew and the vineyards needed to serve the demand grew outside of the original region. Still today, the best Chianti comes from the original Classico region.San Giuseppe Chianti Classico Riserva is complimenting with a broad range of dishes, the reason that makes Chianti popular.

From the Wine Maker – “Chianti, Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile, Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino are all Tuscan Wines made from Sangiovese grape. What defines those wines more than anything is “terroir”. San Giuseppe Chianti Classico Riserva is Chianti from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on our vineyard in the Classic region. Only the best of the best is then selected and aged in oak for three years and made worthy of becoming Riserva. Of course not all wines of the same denomination are equal. So compare San Giuseppe to other brands. You won’t find better. All San Giuseppe wines are hand selected by Frank Gentile, Master Blender, to reflect the true character and best quality of the land and grape. Enjoy it now and save a six bottle wooden case for your cellar.”

Unlike Chianti with Cabernet that tends to dominate, San Giuseppe goes as well with light pasta as with steak.
