2007 Villa Antinori Toscana

This wine was introduced in 1928 by Marquis Niccolò Antinori, as the first Chianti ever produced suited for being aged and improving over time. In 2001, Piero Antinori launched a new step in the evolution of Villa Antinori, making it a Tuscan IGT produced with the best selection of grapes originating exclusively from estates located in Tuscany. This Italian gem is a great red blend consisting of 55% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 5% Syrah.

From the Wine Maker – “The wine has an intense ruby-red color. It offers full and complex aromas which recall ripe fruit, plum jam, mint, chocolate, and tobacco. In the mouth, the wine presents itself with good body; it is round, with soft, velvety tannins. The finish is long and lingering, leaving hints of ripe fruit on the palate.”

This wine is an excellent companion for fish and meat carpaccios, shellfish, spicy seafood, seafood pasta and soup dishes.

2009 Black Stallion Nappa Valley Chardonnay

This 2009 Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented in French Oak. It was stirred weekly and the wine went through partial malolactic fermentation in the barrel. This vintage was sourced from two different areas in the Nappa Valley.

From the Wine Maker – “A wonderfully complex and layered Chardonnay with subtle aromas of citrus blossom, white chocolate, toasted almond and apricot. This wine has a silky smooth texture and full-bodied flavor, balanced with crisp acidity and refined tannins. Notes of pear and white peach add to the rounded fruit flavors which to follow through to a long finish.”

This wine has enough body to pair with Asian ginger pork chops, and would also pair nicely with grilled teriyaki chicken, halibut with a creamy garlic sauce or seafood linguini with a white wine sauce.

Home Grown Red Blend

Made primarily of Syrah, Petite Sirah and Barbera, the grapes come from very special, carefully scrutinized, lovingly farmed coastal California Vineyards, chosen not only for the quality of fruit, but for the quality of the people who farm them. Because Tammie and English believe that life is too short to do business with bad eggs, aye?

From the Wine Maker – “ It has been noticed that different aromas flow from the glass depending on the disposition of the nose smelling or the tongue tasting, kind of mood-ring style. But here’s a checklist of aromas and flavors folks have mentioned, on various days. They are mulberry jam, sweaty saddle, blueberry buckle, roll in the hay, tapioca pudding, chocolate dipped lemon peel, kisses behind the newspaper, cherries, and fresh dirt.”
